Location

The research centre will be located in a building equipped with state-​of-​the-​art infrastructure in Duisburg. The fellows can stay at the international guest house on the campus Duisburg. If they wish accomodation other than the guest house, they can be assisted in the search.

Duisburg, the Ruhr region and the federal state North Rhine-​Westphalia are distinguished by diversity and innovativeness. Grown in the 19^th century due to coal and steel production, the former industrial region is in the midst of change to a region of leisure and culture. Thanks to the German Development Institute (Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik, DIE), the centre will be linked to the UN City Bonn which is home to many internationally active institutions and which offers an attractive cultural and scientific environment.
