Instruments and Procedures of German Development Cooperation in Post-Conflict Countries

On the basis of a systematic analysis of strengths and weaknesses the project will identify needs and options for optimizing existing instruments and procedures of German development cooperation in post-conflict situations. The aim is to enhance the planning and implementation of development policy measures in these contexts.

The project is led by the following questions:

  1. Which factors help or hinder the implementation of hitherto existing procedures, processes and political guidelines for post-conflict situations?
  2. Which procedures and instruments have proven to be particularly useful? Where are needs for improvement?
  3. Which options can be identified to optimize (modify or complement) existing instruments and procedures? What are the budgetary implications?
